Galerie Forsblom will participate in Market Art Fair with a solo presentation of Jenni Hiltunen´s works.
Jenni Hiltunen (b. 1981) paints large-scale female portraits, drawing inspiration from fashion imagery and contemporary posing culture. In her recent works, Hiltunen underlines the fleeting nature of very private and human moments. She expertly captures intimate glimpses when the depicted women lookaway, wearied at the very prospect of being photographed, or forget to pose altogether. Hiltunen’s female portraits convey a world-weary yet equivocal fatigue with today’s social media-saturated culture of perfect selfies and artificial realities – a culture that is defined by the hunger to be seen.
