Kirsti Tuokko at Erkkola – Ephemeral
June 10 – August 31, 2025
Ephemeral is a group exhibition by three artists – Kirsti Tuokko, Emmi Kallio, and Katja Tukiainen – exploring the fleeting nature of life and the impermanence of all things, as well as the many forms that transience can take.
Tuokko (b. 1943) offers her unique perspective on the beauty and fragility of life, celebrating moments and their singularity. She contributes works from 2024–2025 that approach these themes through the lens of fashion and performance.
Her works also reflect on aging and the new dimensions it brings to life – an adventure not meant for the faint of heart.
Traditional portrait models have been replaced in Tuokko’s paintings by androgynous figures — abstract interpretations of humanity and contemporary identity.
These are painted on the reverse side of plexiglass, preserving the glossy surface like the pages of a fashion magazine.
