Portrait of the Jesper Nyrén.
Born in Sala, 1979 I Lives and works in Stockholm
Crystallizing in Jesper Nyrén’s art are the patterns of a prism, a kaleidoscope, or the light breaking through window glass. Color and form are divided into different compositions; each field has its own surface and structure. Despite the abstract nature of Nyrén's work, they depict an actual landscape dissolved into fragments and its outermost components. Jesper Nyrén often utilizes nature studies as a foundation for the color of his works, and he explores the construction of the painting and its composition.
Jesper Nyrén graduated from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm, in 2007. He has exhibited in solo exhibitions in Sweden and Norway and in numerous group exhibitions, including the Borås International Sculpture Biennial. He has been granted awards such as the Marabouparkens P.A.N.K-award, 2008, and the Baertling Scholarship, 2015. Nyrén has made several public installations, among them the New Karolinska, Solna, the subway station Gullmarsplan, Stockholm, and the facade at the Kv. Simonsland, Borås, Sweden.
Galerie Forsblom has been representing Jesper Nyrén since 2017.
