Kristo Saarikoski's painting process is intuitive, where color or its combination leads to a spontaneous composition. He uses monochromatic areas in a larger composition to define perspective. The process is open and unplanned, and even the direction of the canvas can change during it. Saarikoski's work has been influenced by art history, especially the traditions of icon painting. He is interested in meanings that extend beyond the surface of the image.
Kristo Saarikoski graduated from the Free Art School in Helsinki in 2024. He has had several solo and group exhibitions in Finland. His work is in the HUS Collection, the Pentti Sären Collection and the Finnish Artists' Association Collection. The artist lives and works in Helsinki.
