Galerie Forsblom strengthens its management team by appointing Dr. Sofia Aittomaa as the gallery's new Development Director. Aittomaa will begin her role on August 4, 2025. The gallery’s owner, Kaj Forsblom, will continue as CEO and Chairman of the Board.
Sofia Aittomaa holds a PhD in Art History (Åbo Akademi, 2019) and is currently a researcher at Amos Rex. Previously, Aittomaa has worked at institutions such as Konstsamfundet, the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki, the Pro Artibus Foundation, and the Finnish Institute in London. Throughout her career in the art market, she has held diverse roles and responsibilities, including positions at Galerie Forsblom, Makasiini Contemporary, and Christie's.
Kaj Forsblom comments on Aittomaa's appointment: “It is a pleasure to welcome Sofia back to Galerie Forsblom, where she worked from 2007 to 2011. Her extensive experience in the art field and her academic expertise will bring significant value to the gallery. I believe Sofia will strengthen the gallery's position and help us reach new heights in the international art market.”

Aittomaa will be responsible for the gallery's development projects and will work closely with Kaj Forsblom to further enhance the gallery’s operations. Her role will be central to the strategic development of the gallery, integrating art and commerce, and improving customer experiences both domestically and at international art fairs.
