Kaarina Kaikkonen's work And It Was Empty is displayed in the Kunsten Collection exhibition at Kunsten (Museum of Modern Art Aalborg). This exhibition explores a number of specially selected works from Kunsten’s collection, displayed in Aalto’s unique sky-lit galleries. Kunsten’s collection is the museum's heart and the basis of its activities. It offers insight into the past 100+ years of art history.

Kaarina Kaikkonen is known for her spectacular, large-scale installations, in which shirts, men’s jackets, shoes, sweaters or other kinds of clothing are put together in new, atmospheric ways. That applies to this work: a vast pictorial landscape of men’s shirts and jackets.
