Kim Simonsson has reinvented the traditions of ceramic art by combining ceramics with influences ranging from classical marble sculpture to pop culture phenomena, such as video games. Simonsson employs a technique in which electrostatically applied nylon fiber transforms into a soft-looking coating on the surface of his figures. The smooth, glazed surface of the cast sculptures has now been brought to life with the addition of nylon fiber and handcrafting techniques.
