Marianna Uutinen's solo show opened in Berlin on November 4, at Miettinen Collection in Berlin, Marburger Str.3

Uutinen’s work is invested in an ongoing metamorphosis of matter and the possibilities of painting. She is known for paintings made of acrylic skins that create flat of foulded compositions on canvas that break into the surrounding space like sculptures. They point to the physicality of the painting where the material and the metaphor mix. Uutinen’s paintings have a meditative, erotic, and phantasmagorical quality while also invoking a sense of aesthetic pleasure, hope, escapism, and spirituality.

Miettinen Collection is focused on showing German contemporary art, as well established Finnish artists of their colletion. The collection comprises artworks by contemporary artists of various generations and nationalities.
