Not Vital
Not Vital’s first major exhibition in the UK opens at Yorkshire Sculpture Park on May 21, and is on view until January 2, 2017. Drawing from the solitude of his native Swiss mountains, Vital’s conceptual works blur the boundaries of reality and the surreal. Moving masterfully between such diverse medias as sculpture, installation, painting and drawing, Vital combines the abstract and the figurative in a harmonious way creating a meditative atmosphere. Galerie Forsblom was pleased to present Vital’s first solo exhibition in Helsinki in April.
Vital was active on the New York art scene in the 1980s. He represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale in 2001. His work is found in numerous major international collections including New York’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark.
