Tapani Kokko: Birds
Laukko Manor
June 25–August 25, 2024
Tapani Kokko’s art's enchanting power stems from its rugged sculptural quality, exuberant ornamentation, and astonishing imagination.
The new works are inspired by the joyous art of the Rococo period. The lush organic forms harmonize in the bird sculptures with playfully exuberant decorative elements. Tapani Kokko masterfully controls the cornucopia of materials, shapes, and techniques with his unique aesthetic and technical virtuosity.
The exhibition at Laukko Manor is brimming with the joy of discovery and creation. Forgotten laces and candelabras from the back rooms of fabric shops and antique stores have found new life in the fairy-tale nests of Rococo birds.
The Birds exhibition is produced in collaboration with Galerie Forsblom.
